Captain Ron Leavell has been a member of the Seattle Police Department for the past twenty-five years--serving in a variety of assignments.  He previously was the commander of the Criminal Intelligence Section, and is currently assigned to the Washington State Fusion Center.  In addition to serving on the LEIU board since 2004, he serves on a number of national and regional information sharing councils, including the Homeland Security Information Network and FEMA Region X advisory council, as well as the national Fusion Center Management Group and Suspicious Activity Reporting steering group, where he has focused not only on information sharing but privacy and civil liberties protections.
