Captain Brad Gilbert began his career as a State Trooper with the New Jersey State Police in 2001. In 2005, he was selected to become a detective within the Intelligence & Criminal Enterprise Section where he worked gangs, crime suppression, and firearms trafficking, including three years as a federal task force officer. From 2014-2021, he supervised detectives and analysts within the Intelligence Services Unit, overseeing some of the agency's most important programs, including the New Jersey Intelligence System, Anti-Gang Initiative, Criminal Investigation School, Undercover Program, and Witness Relocation Program. In 2021, he served as Unit Head of the Real Time Crime Center South before joining the leadership team at the New Jersey Regional Operations & Intelligence Center (NJ ROIC), the state's premier 24/7 fusion center, as its Administrative Officer. In 2023, he became the Bureau Chief of Information & Intelligence Analysis at NJ ROIC. Captain Gilbert has considerable experience with intelligence-led policing, strategic planning, policy, project management, technology implementation, and interagency collaboration. He has taught criminal intelligence-based principles as a certified police instructor and is currently a national instructor for IALEIA/LEIU Foundations of Intelligence Analysis Training. Captain Gilbert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Training & Development. He joined the LEIU board in 2018 as its Eastern Zone Chairperson and has had the privilege of serving as Vice General Chairperson since 2022.
